Plot:
The story revolves around the lives of three brothers, John, Erick and Mathew. The
story takes place in a Montreal Neighborhood. The story runs through many years and periods, from the early 80’s until the year 2006. It shows of how the 3 brothers grew up and through out there entire lives they struggle against many types of enemies and problems. No matter how strong or brave each one is, only together do they actually accomplish things.
Each one of the brothers likes to be unique and separate from the others. On a normal basis they don’t speak much or do many things together but when one is in need, the others are always there to help in any way they can. Most of the time tough, there not there or just don’t care, a big problem.
A key person in the story is the mother. She is the only one that views the others on a same basis and that is always there to help. Sadly they do not see her this way. She is often mal-treated and not respected. Over the years, the problems and the pain she grows old and can no longer support the problems. That is when the 3 brothers have to start taking decisions and action. Often they tend to make the wrong decisions and get into huge amounts of trouble.
John:
John is the oldest and tends to look out after Erick and Mathew. Sadly by doing this, he always covers up for the others and ends up getting the blame and punishment. Whether it’s being grounded, kicked out of the house, or even doing jail time he takes it as a man and never lays blame on the others for it. He is the strong type that lets nothing happen to the younger ones. Unfortunately, it is all the problems and things that he has to make right that put him in a unique condition. He must bare all the family problems and cant turn to his friends for help for life has shown him that most people are 2 faced. For these reasons he turns do drugs and narcotics to set him free and get his mind off things and the miserable life he lives. He is in a constant struggle with the law and does not appreciate police officers. Instead of anybody trying to understand, they judge him witch leads him in a much worse condition. He tries to go into rehab several times with the help of his mother but never accomplishes it. He likes to settle things in physical ways rather than talking stuff through. By doing this he repeatedly finds himself in prison were he always meets the wrong people and gets into contact with drugs once again. His life is a constant struggle with problems of his own as well as others.
Erick:
Erick, the second child of the family is a year and a half younger then John. He grew up together with his older brother and they were always close. No matter how much he would fuck up, his brother John would always be there to get him out of tight situations. Erick was always a big womanizer that seemed to get around. Never held a steady job for long or accomplished any major goals in life. Erick is a man with big ideas that does not think them through and thus they never get accomplished. He has many friends and knows many people. Together with his older brother John, they forged a reputation for the Byron name. Not being afraid to fight, he would welcome any challenge, any time. He grew up with a tough personality and fearlessness because he always had his older brother to back him up. Despite this, Erick is not a person who would give much help. When a person in his family would request help, often he would not show. This happened many times with John, he would never be there for him. But, when it comes to friends he would always run and help. This created hatred between the brothers. On one side you have the oldest one that helps everyone, and then you have the other that prefers to help his friends rather then his brothers. Erick, not being like John, never did any major felons or major jail time. He just likes to sit back with friends, not care about tomorrow and follow big dreams that never succeed.
Mathew:
The youngest of all 3 is Mathew. He is 10 years younger then John and 9 years younger than Erick, therefore not living through the same periods as them or having the same views. He grows up differently from the rest, has good grades in school, attends church and does not have problems with the law. Growing up, he comes face to face with life as he sees the evolution of his family. Divorce of parents, brothers going to jail, drugs, violence, weapons and physical battles. He grows up in a very violent atmosphere, but he does not know this because he is too young. Later on, when he starts to learn the real world, things do not seem surprising to him. Fights, guns and drugs are things he has seen; he does not know what is good or bad. Often times he is known as the baby or the third one that never was because he is so young, and comes along much later. People, such as John and Erick’s’ friends ignore the fact that there is a third one. When they do realize that Mathew is indeed a Byron (they’re family name), things start to change. He starts to realize how different it was for his brothers growing up, often, that is the reason why people do not believe he is a Byron, because he is quiet and not as tough. Most of the places he goes, simply by mentioning that he is a “B” turns heads. He realizes that he must keep the reputation alive since it is his turn to get into the ring. John being in jail and trying to restart his life as well as Erick not knowing what to do with his, he is left alone. When he needs help, most of the time only John helps him, but then again he isn’t around to often. Growing up, he realizes how his brothers think, why they act the way they do. He matures and starts to think on the same level as them and view life the same way. A connection is made between his and his brothers, he is no longer known as the little one. He becomes bigger then them and interested in the same things. Erick now comes to his help when he needs it. This is when the family is the most complete, a time when the brothers understand one another. Sadly it is also a time of separation and big decisions.
Enjoy. I will aslo post it as a story I guess.
